my goal today was simply to get started, and not to critique myself too heavily. a drawing instructor i once had shared his process. everyday, he would put pen/pencil to paper/napkin/kleenex/coffee cup. some days, he might only manage a stick figure but the point of his process was not to create a masterpiece with every drawing, but everyday to draw. i like to look back at my sketch books to remind myself, perfection is not the first step.
